The Pierre Verger foundation is located on the ladeira da Vila América, a little street going up joining the Vasco da Gama avenue to the Engenho Velho de Brotas area. This street is perpendicular to the Vasco da Gama avenue, up by the Vasco da Gama university (the previous Poupa Ganha's building). The Perini supermarket in the Vasco da Gama avenue is also a point of reference, the latter is situated approximately 330 yards before the ladeira going from Rio Vermelho to Dique.
On the Ladeira da Vila America, 100 meters up the hill from Avenida Vasco da Gama, there is a brown gate marked “Espaço Cultural Pierre Verger”
 
By Bus

There is no bus service on the Ladeira da Vila América, but there is a bus stop in the valley, on Avenida Vasco da Gama.

In the direction Rio Vermelho to Dique, get off the first bus stop after the Perini Supermarket.
In the opposite direction (Dique to Rio Vermelho), get off the first bus stop after the first traffic lights on the avenue.
